  • day 1 & 2

    Nice, France

    Touch down in Nice where an Travel representative will meet you. Transfer to the Hotel Aston La Scala and spend time getting to know your accommodation or unpacking. Later tonight, gather with your fellow travelers to enjoy a Welcome Reception, followed by a Welcome Dinner.

    Nice

    Your first morning in beautiful Nice begins with a talk about the illustrious artists Henri Émile Benoît Matisse and Marc Chagall. Then set out to discover Nice, a city that captivates visitors with its waterfront setting and Mediterranean energy. After a visit to the Musée Marc Chagall, follow shaded cobblestones through Vieille Ville, Nice’s vibrant Old Town, and stroll along the legendary Promenade des Anglais. Witness the pace of local life and the area’s produce and flowers at Nice’s longest-running market. Tonight, dig into a dinner of delicious Niçoise cuisine.

    Monaco | Monte Carlo | Èze

    Uncover the sights of Monaco, known as the “Billionaires’ Playground.” In Old Town, step into the neo-Byzantine cathedral, followed by a look at the Palais du Prince, once home to Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace. Next, discover glamorous Monte Carlo, Monaco’s wealthiest district and home to the famous Casino de Monte-Carlo, designed by Charles Garnier. The adventure continues in medieval Èze, perched above the Cote d’Azur. After an orientation tour of this hilltop treasure, take time to explore at your own pace. Tonight, a local expert share insights into modern-day France.

    Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat | Villefranche-sur-Mer

    Spend today immersed in the beauty of the Cap-Ferrat peninsula and Villefranche-sur-Mer. Admire the sumptuous furnishings and remarkable art collection of the palatial Villa Ephrussi, built for Baroness Béatrice de Rothschild, a wealthy French socialite. In Villefranche-sur-Mer, take a moment to slow down on your own and indulge in this tiny corner of paradise. Active travelers may elect to walk back to Nice on a beautiful coastal path.

  • day 6

    Genoa | Sestri Levante

    From the Côte d’Azur, head north to Genoa, Italy’s leading port city, where we’ll enjoy panoramic city views from Spianata Castelletto and walk along the Via Garibaldi. This grand boulevard is lined with the elegant façades and balconies of Renaissance palaces. After, continue to Sestri Levante and check in to the Hotel Vis a Vis.

    Sestri Levante

    Begin the day with a talk about the region’s alluring history and culture. Then join your guide to explore Sestri Levante, a jewel centered in the curve of the Italian Riviera. A stroll through town provides ample architectural rewards, such as the ornate trompe l’oeil stonework that adorns many façades. Today’s activities also feature a special demonstration by a local chef who shares recipes and tips for making two delicious regional favorites: authentic pesto alla genovese and focaccia. Another moment you’re sure to remember is a delectable lunch accompanied by views over the Bay of Silence.

    Portovenere | Manarola | Vernazza

    Embark on an excursion to the stunning villages of the Cinque Terre. Few places touch your heart like this patchwork of colorful hamlets tumbling to the sea. From Portovenere overlooking the Bay of Poets, travel to romantic Manarola. Then bask in the picturesque coastline during a relaxing cruise, and gaze up at clifftop Corniglia and Vernazza. Disembark in Vernazza and settle in at a waterfront trattoria for a seafood lunch.

    Sestri Levante

    Today is yours to spend how you wish. Visit local shops for souvenirs or gather fixings for a picnic lunch on the beach. If you join today’s Elective Activity, you’ll journey back in time to ancient Rome at the legendary Carrara marble quarries. Tonight, enjoy an enriching talk about Italy’s current events.

  • day 10

    Rapallo | Portofino | Santa Margherita

    Fall under the spell of the Ligurian coast today! Travel the coastal road to seaside Rapallo, once loved by writers W.B. Yeats and Ezra Pound, and cruise to Portofino, with its lauded waterfront promenade and pristine harbor. After leisure time in Portofino, sail upon sapphire waters to lovely Santa Margherita and admire its yacht-filled harbor and trove of fishing cottages.

  • day 11

    Depart for gateway city

    Bid farewell to this stunning corner of the globe and head to the airport to start the journey home.
