    Fair Isle, Shetland Islands

    Warm local welcome in Fair Isle, population ~60, w/Bird Observatory visit & scenic walk; performance by local musicians on board as we moor overnight in Lerwick

    Lerwick, Shetland Islands

    Archaeological site of Jarlshof, with layers of settlements from Neolithic to Bronze Age, Iron Age, and medieval times; lunch ashore & free afternoon in Lerwick with option to visit the excellent Shetland Museum

    Stavanger, Norway

    Morning cruising; afternoon and early evening in Stavanger with choice of hike up to iconic Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock), or stay in Stavanger for highlights tour including Norwegian Petroleum Museum; option for independent early dinner ashore

    Rosendal & Hardangerfjord

    Cruise the Hardangerfjord to Rosendal for choice of full-day options: scenic three-mile roundtrip walk to Bondhus Lake, passing idyllic meadows & forests, and stopping for a local lunch, OR journey by coach and ferry to north side of fjord for live demos of traditional shipbuilding techniques and a farm lunch at an idyllic fjordside fruit orchard; both options include views of waterfalls and a glacier arm of the Folgefonna glacier

    Flåm & Naeroyfjord

    AM Flam Railway, lunch at Stalheim Hotel and Viking experience in Gudvangen; early evening cruising along the UNESCO World Heritage Naeroyfjord back out to the Sognefjorden

    Full day in Bergen, with guided tour of historic Bryggen wharf and fish market; time at leisure; afternoon Fantoft stave church (rebuilt after a fire), and Troldhaugen with private Grieg concert

    Runde & Alesund

    Early morning cruise by bird cliffs at Runde, nesting site of over 240 species including puffins; Morning in beautiful Alesund, with Art Nouveau buildings and islands stretching out into the ocean; PM cruising

  • day June 14

    Torghatten & Bronnoysund

    AM choice of hikes of various levels around Mount Torghatten or along the coast; PM cruise through Bronnoysund and across the Arctic Circle near the island of Vikingen

    Reine (Lofoten Islands)

    Full day in Lofoten Islands, driving through dramatic scenery and stopping in photogenic small fishing villages of Å, Reine, and Nusfjord, with restored fishing cabins and local stores

  • day June 16

    Svolvær (Lofoten Islands) & Trollfjorden

    Second full day in Lofoten Islands with Viking Museum at Borg, artisan workshops of Henningsvaer, re-embark in Svolvær; evening cruise through beautiful, narrow and steep-sided Trollfjorden with its birdlife & waterfalls

    Full day in Tromsø with visits to Arctic Cathedral and the Tromsø Museum with exhibits about the Sami people; Fjellheisen aerial tram up the mountain for panoramic views out over Tromsø and its surroundings; Farewell dinner on board

    Disembark in Tromsø; Board return flights to the U.S.
