Begin in Lisbon for a day and a half in port with a visit to charming Sintra. Then embark the Sea Cloud II for six nights aboard the Sea Cloud II, stopping for visits in Lagos, Seville and Gibraltar. The program finishes with a hotel night in Granada for an introduction to the region’s Moorish heritage and a spectacular farewell with a private visit to the incomparable Alhambra Palace.

Upon payment of the $1,000 per person deposit, all reservations are subject to the cancellation provisions set forth below and by which the passenger agrees to be bound. Cancellations shall not be in effect until they are received in writing and confirmed by the National Trust Tours. Deposits are refundable (less a $250 per person administration fee) if written notice of cancellation is received within 30 days of reservation. After the payment deadline all payments are 100% nonrefundable, regardless of booking date. Trip cancellation insurance is strongly recommended. NOTE: Neither the National Trust for Historic Preservation nor Criterion Travel, the tour operator, accepts liability for any airline cancellation penalties incurred with the purchase of nonrefundable tickets.”

  • day 1 & 2

    Depart Home City/ Lisbon, Portugal

    Depart your home city for Lisbon, Portugal. Arrive Lisbon; complimentary transfer airport to hotel. Welcome orientation and reception

  • day 3

    Lisbon & Sintra, Portugal

    Morning visit to Sintra, followed by the Jeronimos Monastery, the Tower of Belem and panoramic Lisbon. Embark SCII and enjoy dinner onboard.

  • day 4

    At Sea

    Lecture onboard; time under sail if weather permits.

  • day 5

    Portimao, Portugal

    Visit the seafaring town of Lagos: St. Anthony’s Church; the old wall and customs house; the high sandstone cliffs of Ponta da Piedade. Return to the ship for lunch and cruise towards Spain.

  • day 6

    Seville, Spain

    From port of Cadiz visit Seville’s Reales Alcazares, Cathedral, and Old Jewish Quarter, with authentic tapas dinner and private flamenco show at a local tablao. Remain docked overnight in Cadiz.

  • day 7

    Seville, Spain

    Morning walking tour of Cadiz with stops at medieval El Pópulo neighbourhood, Museo de Cadiz and the famous Central Market. Return to the SCII for lunch and depart for Gibraltar

  • day 8

    Gibraltar, UK

    Visit St. Michael’s Cave, views at the top of the Rock of the European and African coastlines, the Barbary Apes, the Great Siege Tunnels. Pending: Possible private visits to Eisenhower’s Cave and the WWII Stay Behind Tunnels.

  • day 9

    Malaga, Spain

    Morning disembarkation. Visit to Picasso Museum or Dolmens in Antequera ‘stone henge’ en route to Granada. Walking tour of Old Granada and private evening visit to Alhambra Palace and Generalife Gardens for a festive farewell dinner.
