-Cancellation received 60-31 days prior to departure will result in forfeiture of 75% of the entire cost of the trip per person.
-Cancellation received 30 days prior to departure to the time of departure (or no show) will result in 100% forfeiture of the entire cost of the trip.

Once you arrive at the Barcelona airport, you’ll be met by a Travel representative who will accompany you to the hotel for check-in. Settle into your room and join this afternoon’s discussion to gain insight into Barcelona, the Capital of Catalonia. This evening, meet your fellow travelers at the Welcome Reception with hors d’oeuvres in the hotel.

Breakfast is served at the hotel every morning. Today, set out for a guided walk through the labyrinth of cobblestone streets in Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter. See the Barcelona Cathedral, remains of the Roman walls, and Plaça del Rei, Catalan’s historic powerhouse where medieval Barcelona flourished at the center of the old city. Then, enjoy an interactive Catalan cooking demonstration, followed by a delicious lunch of the dishes prepared. The remainder of the day and evening are at your leisure.

After breakfast, gain insight into current-day Barcelona before setting out on a panoramic drive up to Montjuïc, passing by the Christopher Columbus monument, the royal Drassanes shipyards, and the World Trade Center, shaped like a ship. Here, admire sweeping views of Barcelona and the 1992 Summer Olympics opening ceremony site. Stop for a group lunch and continue to the historic waterfront to admire the yachts and boardwalk at Marina Port Vell. Explore on your own for the rest of the day and evening!

After breakfast, learn about Catalan Modernism & Gaudí, followed by a guided architectural walk to stroll past brightly colored buildings designed by Spanish modernists. Arrive for a visit to the magnificent La Sagrada Familía, Antoni Gaudí’s most famous work and a symbol of Barcelona. Take a break for lunch together and then visit the extraordinary art nouveau complex of the former Hospital Sant Pau, regarded for its singular beauty and design sensitivity. Enjoy dinner tonight at a local restaurant.

This morning, visit the Picasso Museum for an immersive guided tour to see some of the artist’s 4,200 works on display and gain insight into the profound influence Barcelona had on Picasso’s artistic evolution. Then, take a guided walk through El Born, a cultural hub once home to medieval tournaments. Stroll past trendy boutiques and cafés to bourgeois Calle de Montcada, where 12th-century mansions now house art galleries. As you stroll, savor tasty tapas and Spanish wines at three tapas bars. Enjoy the remainder of the day and evening on your own.

Montserrat | Penedès Wine Region
Set out this morning for the premier Palau de la Musica concert hall, a must-see destination for architecture and music lovers. Inside this exquisite example of Catalan modernism, marvel at the soaring ornate ceilings and columns, massive organ and spectacular skylight. Find a spot for lunch on your own and rejoin your group to visit Gaudí’s magical Park Güell. Explore the playful garden, delighting in colorful mosaics and imaginative structures, including the iconic Serpentine Bench and “dragon” statue and fountain. Later, enjoy dinner together.

On your last full day, chart your own itinerary around marvelous Barcelona unless you choose to take the optional excursion to Montserrat Mountain and the Penedés wine region (available at an additional cost). Later, raise a toast to your extraordinary Barcelona adventure at this evening’s Farewell Reception with hors d’oeuvres in the hotel.
