Start your journey with two nights in Lisbon, the capital city of Portugal. Stroll around the former royal residence of Queluz, otherwise known as the Portuguese Versailles, and its elegant lounges and beautiful gardens. Later, visit the charming village of Sintra — a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its mountain range, climate and countryside palaces. Marvel at the Old Royal Palace, which houses the oldest glazed tiles in Portugal and the biggest conical chimneys of medieval times.

Conclude your tour with two nights immersed in the heart of Barcelona, an ancient Roman trading port that now serves as the lively capital city of Catalonia. See the Barri Gòtic or Gothic Quarter, a masterpiece begun in 1298 and finished in 1454. See Pablo Picasso’s defining cubist artwork at the Picasso Museum, the first museum dedicated to his work and the only one created during his lifetime. Discover the UNESCO‑inscribed modern marvels of Antoni Gaudí, including an excursion to Park Güell.

Linda was on the NTHP National Main Street program’s management team working with over 200 communities. As the director for Exchange Programs for the Countryside Institute she provided oversight for communities in 3 counties to implement sustainable environmental and economic programs. Her time as the Board Chair and Executive Director of Historic Congressional Cemetery saw the property go from being listed on the NT’s 11 Most Endangered to being listed as a National Landmark with a $4M endowment. Most recently she served as the CEO for Cultural Tourism for Washington, DC promoting the embassies, monuments, arts and neighborhoods as an integral part of the city’s economic development plan. Her background in historic preservation, cultural tourism and community engagement will help each traveler better understand the flavor and significance of our stops along the way.

Depart your home city for Lisbon, Portugal. Arrive and embark the World Navigator. Enjoy the Captain’s Welcome Reception that evening.

Portimão, the Algarve, for Lagos
Disembark for an excursion to the ancient maritime port city of Lagos. Visit the statue of Infante Dom Henrique — a monument to Prince Henry the Navigator —and the Church of St. António, known for its intricately carved wood interior. You’ll also learn more about the disturbing history of slavery during the 15th century with a visit to the Mercado de Escravos, site of the first slave market in Europe.

Seville
Start the day with a tour of the impressive Royal Alcázar of Seville, a fortified 11th-century Moorish palace that represents the Islamic and Christian cultures that have ruled over the centuries. A UNESCO World Heritage site, its architecture is an evolving tapestry of Mudéjar style and a blend of Islamic, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Romantic influences. Today, it is one of the official residences of the Spanish royal family and the oldest royal palace in Europe that’s still in use. Visit the magnificent Cathedral of Seville, a Gothic masterpiece that replaced a mosque on that site, keeping its famous Giralda bell tower in place.

Tangier, Morocco
After five centuries under Roman rule, Tangier fell to the Vandals and ultimately became part of the Byzantine empire — origins that created a vibrant ancient metropolis. A walking tour takes you to Tangier’s kasbah, an 18th‑century fortress. See weavers and artisans creating their handmade crafts in the souks and learn about the flavors of Moroccan cuisine. Continue through the narrow alleys of Petit Socco, where produce vendors, butchers and flower sellers set up shop, to Grand Socco Square. Visit a local restaurant for a Moroccan cooking demonstration and lunch, followed by a choice between two included excursions: Cave of Hercules or a Medina Visit. Later this evening, enjoy a cruise through the Strait of Gibraltar.

Malaga for Granada, Andalusia, Spain
A scenic drive takes you to Granada, where you may explore the Alhambra Palace and its magnificent Generalife gardens —collectively a UNESCO World Heritage site. Originally designed as a military area, the Alhambra became the residence of the royal court of Granada in the middle of the 13th century, and later a citadel with high ramparts and defensive towers. Admire the exquisite detail that made it both an artistic treasure and a hilltop stronghold.

Cruising the Mediterranean Sea
Relax on board with a day at sea. Attend a lecture, admire the spectacular views or enjoy the ship’s luxury amenities as you cruise the coast of Spain.

Valencia
The sun‑kissed city of Valencia was founded as a Roman colony in 138 B.C. amidst a fertile plain of orange groves — an ingredient that’s become a staple in the city’s foodie culture. It is also the birthplace of paella, a flavorful rice dish that’s become a signature of Spanish cuisine. Your visit includes a choice of one of two included excursions: Market Visit & Paella Cooking Class or a History & Architecture tour of the city. Enjoy the Captain’s Farewell Reception later this evening.

Tarragona for Barcelona
Disembark for an excursion to Barcelona, an ancient Roman trading port on the northeastern coast of Spain. Discover its Catalonian charm and the modern marvels of Antoni Gaudí on a driving tour. Visit Gaudí’s revered Basílica de la Sagrada Família, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Construction began in 1882 and it is still unfinished to this day, with an estimated completion date of 2026. The basilica is known for its flying buttresses and other unique elements, including soaring towers and columns within the church said to symbolize the four evangelists. Return to the ship, which will be docked at Tarragona for the evening.

After breakfast, disembark the ship and transfer to the Barcelona Post-Tour or travel to the airport in Barcelona for your return flight home.
