Arrive in Madrid, Spain | Chinchón
Upon arrival at Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport an Orbridge representative will be waiting to assist with your transfer to the property in Chinchón.
Take time to unpack and settle in before meeting fellow travel companions for a welcome reception followed by dinner featuring a delicious assortment of tapas.

day 3
Madrid
Following breakfast meet with a local guide for a comprehensive panoramic city tour of Madrid. Traveling by motor coach, see highlights including Sabatini Gardens, Plaza de Oriente and Almudena Cathedral. Continue to Plaza de España for photography opportunities of the iconic bronze statues of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza.
Arrive at the Royal Palace for an inside tour to view renowned works by Velázquez, Goya, El Greco and other masters. Then venture outdoors for a walking tour of the Royal Palace complex and gardens.
Later return to the property for dinner and a relaxing evening.

Alcalá de Henares/Aranjuez
After breakfast set out for the municipality of Alcalá de Henares, the birthplace of Miguel de Cervantes, one of the greatest writers in Spanish history.
Enjoy an inside visit to Museo Casa Natal de Cervantes followed by a panoramic city tour including the University of Alcalá before stopping for lunch.
This afternoon visit the Royal Palace of Aranjuez, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001. Stroll through some of the estate’s 275 acres of meticulously landscaped grounds and ornate botanical gardens.
Take the scenic drive back to the property where the remainder of the evening is yours at leisure.

Consuegra
Following breakfast depart for Consuegra to visit a family-owned Manchego cheese creamery for a tour and tasting. Watch how artisanal masters shape sheep’s milk cheese and learn about the aging process. Then be seated for a delightful cheese tasting paired with local wine accompanied by fruit and nuts.
Afterward take a short drive to see the 12 legendary windmills prominently featured in Cervantes’ Don Quixote.
A Manchegan lunch awaits in Puerto Lápice, then stop for a brief visit in the small village of Tembleque for photography opportunities of traditional Manchegan architecture. Well-preserved buildings of Castilian Baroque and Renaissance influences reflect the important role of the town’s location along the historic Camino Real de Andalucia.

Toledo/La Granja de San Ildefonso
After breakfast and check-out explore Toledo, a diverse city whose historic center was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986.
Visit Toledo Cathedral, one of Spain’s most important Gothic structures and a stunning masterpiece of medieval architecture. Completed in the 13th century, it boasts an intricate façade, an ornate interior filled with beautiful chapels and a collection of religious artwork including paintings by El Greco.
Continue to the former Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca. Constructed in the 12th century under Christian rule, this building is an architectural marvel with its mix of Moorish and Jewish design elements.
Next visit Santo Tomé Church to see El Greco’s masterpiece, The Burial of the Count of Orgaz, considered one of the most influential paintings in Western art.
Enjoy leisure time for independent exploration before continuing to Parador de la Granja for check-in and dinner at the property.

Peñafiel/Segovia
This morning take an easy walk from the property to visit the Royal Palace of La Granja of San Ildefonso.
The 18th-century palace served as the summer residence of the kings of Spain during the reign of King Philip V. Admire the Baroque-style architecture and beautiful gardens.
Afterward board a motor coach for the drive to Peñafiel in the heart of Ribera del Duero wine region for an immersive wine experience. After a welcome glass of wine, follow your guide through a network of underground galleries carved into the mountain. Arriving at a modern winery, meet with a sommelier for a tasting of three varietals paired with local artisanal meats and cheese followed by lunch featuring a menu of seasonal cuisine.
Before returning to the property, stop at the medieval Alcázar de Segovia, famous for its visually iconic fairy tale-structured towers and slate roofs, for an inside visit.

Ávila
After breakfast enjoy a scenic drive to Ávila for an inside visit of the imposing Ávila Cathedral, Spain’s oldest Gothic cathedral.
After lunch drive to the Spanish royal palace, monastery, college and library complex of San Lorenzo de El Escorial. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984, the building complex is considered the most important architectural monument of the Spanish Renaissance.
This evening gather with fellow travel companions for a special farewell dinner featuring traditional Castilian cuisine with contemporary influences.

Parador de Chinchón
Founded by the first Lords of Chinchón in the 15th century, Parador de Chinchón is situated in the former monastery of Nuestra Señora del Paraíso. The site retains its original cloister, staircase and the primitive church—which has been transformed into a unique suite.

Following breakfast venture to the Prado Museum for a guided tour of the gallery’s must-see highlights.
Then gather at a local restaurant for lunch featuring Madrid’s seasonal specialties.
Continue to El Retiro, the city’s largest park spanning more than 300 acres. Originally owned by the Spanish monarchy, the park was opened to the public in 1868. Stroll by the vast gardens and monuments, see the Great Pond and visit the stunning Glass Palace exhibition hall.
Day 11: Madrid • Depart for U.S.
