Upon arrival to Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) a representative will be waiting to assist with your transfer to the hotel. Take time to settle in and refresh before joining fellow travel companions and Travel Director for a lecture by a local historian followed by a special welcome reception featuring a robust introduction to the enlightening itinerary ahead. Continue to Gettysburg National Military Park Visitors Center—the gateway to Gettysburg Battlefield. This complex offers a comprehensive understanding of the Civil War’s most pivotal battle. Next view the restored Cyclorama—one of only three remaining. This artistic marvel, painted by renowned artist Paul Philippoteaux, provides a panoramic view of the Battle of Gettysburg, one of the Civil War’s defining moments.

This afternoon rejoin the group for a lecture discussing the battles of Harpers Ferry and Antietam, then visit Gettysburg Railroad Station where Lincoln arrived on November 18, 1863, to deliver one of the most iconic speeches in American history—the Gettysburg Address.
