ITINERARY

  • day 1&2

    Depart the U.S./Dubrovnik, Croatia

Touch down in Dubrovnik, Croatia, and meet your Travel representative. Transfer to Tivat, Montenegro, where cobbled lanes lead to glistening shoreline. Check in to the Regent Porto Montenegro and get to know the area around your hotel. Tonight, join your fellow travelers for a festive Welcome Reception and Dinner to kick off your Montenegrin journey.

  • day 3

    Cetinje

After breakfast, broaden your knowledge of Montenegro’s history; then travel to Cetinje, the country’s capital from 1878-1946. After the Second World War, Montenegro’s capital was moved to Podgorica. Today, Cetinje is a living time capsule with impressive architecture, galleries, art academies and museums that reveal fascinating cultural and historical insight. Join a guide for a tour of the National Museum of Montenegro, housed throughout five historic buildings.

  • day 4

Bay of Kotor | Perast | Kotor

Unlike the fjords sprinkled throughout Europe, Montenegro’s Bay of Kotor was not carved by glaciers. Instead, the bay is a ria, a submerged river valley created by rising sea levels. Admire the landscape of jaw-dropping hills, plummeting cliffs and emerald waters while sailing to Our Lady of the Rocks, a man-made island. Continue to medieval Perast, a charming lakefront town with churches, palaces, defensive towers and monuments, and enjoy a cruise to Kotor, a UNESCO listed-town encircled by fortifications.

  • day 5

    Lake Skadar | Tuzi

Travel through a picturesque landscape to Lake Skadar, the largest freshwater lake in the Balkans with sleepy villages and remnants of ancient monasteries, monuments and churches. During a boat tour, admire the lake’s flora and fauna, and learn about its ecosystem and endemic species. Continue to Tuzi to a vineyard owned by Plantaže, one of Eastern Europe’s biggest wine producers. Tour the company’s Šipčanik wine cellar, located in a former underground Yugoslav-era aircraft hangar, and enjoy a tasting of delicious wines.

  • day 6

    Budva | Kotor

Begin the day in lovely Budva, enclosed within medieval citadel walls and host to many historic monuments and pretty churches. These beautiful buildings tell stories of the different peoples that have passed through Budva.  Tonight, discover the magic of Kotor. As the sun sinks along the bay, Kotor’s streetlights cast a soft, romantic glow on its cobblestone lanes and honey-stone buildings. Take a walk and enjoy the tranquil ambience while dining on your own.

  • day 7

    Dubrovnik, Croatia

After breakfast, drive to Dubrovnik, Croatia, and check in to the Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik. The remainder of the day invites an in-depth discovery of Dubrovnik. During a walking tour, admire the Franciscan Monastery’s Romanesque cloister and visit its small apothecary. Explore medieval Sponza Palace, see the loggia of the Rector’s Palace and visit the baroque cathedral.

  • day 8

    Dubrovnik

Those who stay in the city for free time today may wish to walk around the old walls of the city, an experience that offers splendid views of Dubrovnik’s distinctive orange rooftops, the harbor and the vast stretch of blue sea. Or, choose to join us for our elective activity to the delightful and stunning Pelješac Peninsula. Tonight, raise a toast to your adventure at a Farewell Reception and Dinner.

  • day 9

    Depart for gateway city

After breakfast, bid farewell to this stunning slice of Eastern Europe.
