Depart gateway city/Naples, Italy | Vietri sul Mare
Upon arrival at Naples airport, you’ll be greeted by a Travel representative. Travel to Vietri sul Mare and check in to the Hotel Raito, your home for the upcoming week. Tonight, get to know your fellow travelers at a Welcome Reception and Dinner.

Amalfi | Positano
After an informative talk about the Amalfi Coast, venture out for a spectacular day! Enjoy a visit to the delightful town of Amalfi. Take an orientation tour and see the town’s beautiful cathedral. After free time, board a boat for a cruise to Positano. Glide along the Amalfi Coast, a brilliant tapestry of mountains, tree-covered cliffs and houses painted in pastel hues. Upon arrival, discover why this down is so special! Beautiful Positano has been lauded by poets and artists for centuries.

Paestum
Travel back in time to the ancient civilization of Paestum. Founded in the seventh century B.C., Paestum was overgrown by vegetation and forgotten for 1,000 years. Vietri sul Mare is the quintessential setting for fairytale charm. Grab a chair at a local café and simply take in the scenery. Or, join the Elective Activity to the Isle of Capri, the perfect opportunity to explore the scenic lanes, galleries and boutiques along Capri’s main streets. You may also wish to visit the beautiful Augustus Gardens! Gather tonight for a lecture about mighty Mount Vesuvius.

Herculaneum | Pompeii
Stroll through the haunting archaeological sites of Herculaneum and Pompeii, destroyed after the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius A.D. 79. The small seaside town of Herculaneum was preserved by mudflows and offers captivating treasures while Pompeii was covered in fiery hot ash. Today, their archaeological mazes and sacred rubble exude an ominous allure, revealing a distant period of human civilization. The days ends with an insightful discussion about Italian society and life in Campania.

Sorrento
Join an orientation tour of sunny Sorrento, bursting with alfresco cafes, local boutiques and shops selling local lemoncello. Next, travel to a countryside cheese and olive oil farm outside of Sorrento. Journey through rolling green hills to a family-owned farm.
