Delve into picturesque Amsterdam in greater depth during this two-night stay! From your centrally located, first-class hotel, explore the city’s lively neighborhood streets, scenic canals and world-class museums and attractions. Plus, stroll through the Old Harbor and learn about Dutch nautical heritage at the National Maritime Museum, featuring a replica of a 17th-century, three-masted ship.   • CANCELLATION-All cancellations must be submitted in writing to AHI Travel.
    • Cancellation received up to 121 days prior to trip departure will incur a $500 per person administrative fee.
    • Cancellation received 120 to 91 days prior to departure will result in forfeiture of 25% of the entire cost of the trip per person.
    • Cancellation received 90-61 days prior to departure will result in forfeiture of 50% of the entire cost of the trip per person.
    • Cancellation received 60-31 days prior to departure will result in forfeiture of 75% of the entire cost of the trip per person.
    • Cancellation received 30 days prior to departure to the time of departure (or no show) will result in 100% forfeiture of the entire cost of the trip.

ITINERARY

  • day 1 & 2

    Depart the U.S./Amsterdam

    Arrive at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, where an  Travel representative will be on hand to take you to the ship. After getting settled, learn about contemporary life in the Netherlands from a local expert. Then board a canal cruiser for a tour through the tree-lined canals that make this romantic city truly unforgettable. Admire some of the city’s 1,500 bridges, the elegant, gabled homes and the architectural gems of the bustling city harbor.

     

  • day 3

    Amsterdam

    Journey to Keukenhof Gardens, an 80-acre paradise of tulips, daffodils and other bright blooms, for a guided stroll through this enchanting setting. After lunch, explore Amsterdam’s vibrant neighborhoods and top-notch museums on your own. Then, begin your cruise and as the ship sails for Enkhuizen, gather with your fellow travelers for a Welcome Reception and Dinner.

  • day 4

    Enkhuizen | Hoorn

    Arrive in Enkhuizen, which boasts beautiful architecture that reflects its heyday as a prosperous port during the Dutch Golden Age. Choose to (1) admire Enkhuizen’s stately landmarks on a guided walk and visit the immersive Zuiderzee Museum, (2) delight in the picturesque, 17th-century harbor town of Hoorn on a guided walk or (3) pedal through the scenic West Frisian countryside on a bicycle tour. Later, after lunch on the ship, enjoy some free time in Enkhuizen.

  • day 5

    The Hague / Delft / Gouda

    This morning, join a local expert who’ll share insights on the legendary Dutch Golden Age artists. Next, choose from (1) a trip to see The Hague’s grand landmarks and view Dutch and Flemish masterpieces at the storied Mauritshuis, (2) a guided walk in historic Old Delft and a tour of the Royal Delft porcelain factory or (3) a visit to Gouda to tour Sint Janskerk, featuring lovely, 16th-century windows, and sample fresh Gouda cheeses. Return to the ship for lunch and an afternoon of sailing toward Veere.

  • day 6

    Veere

    Today, spend your free time exploring in Veere, a pretty seaside town with a 15th-century town hall and delightful shops. You can also join an Elective Activity to the artificial island of Neeltje Jans and its Delta Expo on the Zeeland coast. On this optional tour, learn about the Delta Works, a series of massive dams and storm surge barriers that protects the significant portion of the Netherlands that sits below sea level. The ship remains in Veere overnight.

  • day 7

    Bruges | Antwerp

    After cruising to Middelburg, disembark for a scenic drive to Bruges, Belgium. Relish Bruges’ medieval ambience on a guided stroll in the Gothic old town. Afterward, choose from a visit to (1) the Groeninge Museum to take in its outstanding artwork, (2) the De Halve Maan Brewery for a tour and tasting or (3) a chocolatier’s shop to discover the art of Belgian chocolate-making. Enjoy lunch on your own in Bruges before rejoining the ship in Antwerp, where it docks tonight.

     

  • day 8

    Antwerp

    This morning, find out more about Belgian culture from a local expert. Then meander through Antwerp’s cobblestone streets with your guide to take in its wealth of medieval architecture, including the cathedral, town hall and narrow guild halls in Grote Markt square. Later, spend the afternoon at leisure in Antwerp. Relax at a café on the bustling Groenplaats or visit the Antwerp Zoo. Tonight, gather for a Farewell Reception and Dinner to commemorate your journey.

     

  • day 9

    Disembark ship/ Transfer to Brussels airport/Return to the U.S.

    Depart for home city After breakfast, depart for the airport for your flights home.
