Depart gateway city/Rome, Italy
Once you arrive at the Rome airport, you’ll be met by an AHI Travel representative who will accompany you on the drive to the hotel in Perugia. Check in and settle into your room. This evening, meet and mingle with your fellow travelers at the Welcome Reception and Dinner, including wine, in the hotel.

Perugia
After learning about the region’s history this morning, set out for a guided walk of Perugia, brimming with medieval pageantry. Stroll through the 14th-century Piazza IV Novembre city center and pass by Etruscan- and Roman-period walls, the 13th-century Fontana Maggiore and the Gothic-style Prior’s Palace. Relish a traditional Umbrian lunch at a local osteria and visit a local chocolate shop to savor tastings of Perugia’s famed Baci chocolate.

Perugia | Orvieto
Gain insight into Umbria’s icons this morning and depart the hotel for the picturesque hilltop town of Orvieto. Bask in the breathtaking Umbrian vistas on a guided walk along cobblestone streets to the charming town square, with a tour of the magnificent Italian-Gothic-style Cathedral of Orvietoto. Enjoy some free time here and continue to the Oleoteca Bartolomei Olive Oil Mill for an immersive experience, olive oil tasting and delicious lunch on the property.

Set out for Tuscany today, beginning in the Etruscan city of Cortona for a guided walk past charming piazzas and historic palazzos, including the 14th-century Praetorian Palace and the 11th-century Cortona Cathedral. Enjoy a tour of the Museum of the Etruscan Academy to view ancient artifacts. Continue to medieval Montepulciano, lauded for its classical antiquity and Renaissance architecture. Stroll the main street to shop, chat with local artisans and peek into centuries-old wine cellars.

Get ready to experience an Umbrian gastronomic and wine experience! Visit a local winery to discover the secrets of authentic Umbrian recipes while observing the preparation of rustic dishes, like hand-rolled pasta, savory breads and traditional desserts. Then, indulge in an authentic taste experience as you relish the delicious cuisine with paired regional wines for lunch. The remainder of the day and evening are yours to plan.

Perugia | Assisi | Gubbio
Today, make your own pilgrimage to the birthplace of St. Francis of Assisi. Visit the revered Basilica of San Francesco d’Assisi to view the patron saint’s hallowed tomb and the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels, where St. Francis founded the Franciscan order and later died. Continue to the well-preserved medieval city of Gubbio for lunch and a guided walk to see the Piazza Grande, the Palazzo del Popolo and the Cathedral of San Mariano and San Giacomo.

Perugia | Todi
Discuss contemporary Italy this morning and head to Todi, perched on a hill overlooking the Tiber River Valley. On a guided walk, see the beautiful, medieval Piazza del Popolo central square, the Romanesque-Gothic-style Todi Cathedral and the striking Cathedral of Saint Mary dominating the skyline. Enjoy a guided visit to the Umbrian-Gothic-style San Fortunato Church, dedicated to the patron saint of Todi, St. Fortunatus. Tonight, gather for a Farewell Reception and Dinner at the hotel.
