As the Blue Ridge Mountains ignite in their most spectacular autumn colors, the magic of Asheville
comes alive
From October 5–9, 2026, join a small group of fellow National Trust members for Architecture, Art & Craft in Asheville — a five-day cultural immersion led by Asheville native and preservation advocate Heath Towson. Heath's deep roots in the city open doors, including private visits to remarkable historic residences and behind-the-scenes access to active preservation projects.
Your days will be filled with the best Asheville has to offer: a private tour of the breathtaking 250-room Biltmore Estate, a curatorial walk through the Asheville Art Museum, hands-on encounters with local glassblowing and woodworking artisans, and a stroll through the Art Deco masterpieces that define downtown's extraordinary skyline. Lunch at the legendary Grove Park Inn — opened in 1913 and one of America's great historic retreats — is a highlight not to be missed.
You'll stay throughout in the iconic Flat Iron Hotel, a lovingly restored 1926 landmark listed on the National Register of Historic Places, right in the heart of downtown.
