In historic Bergen, visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Bryggen, the old wharf; and Troldhaugen, the historic home of composer Edvard Grieg. Then travel through pristine fjordlands on the famed Flåm Railway, one of the world’s most scenic train rides. Relish a cruise into UNESCO World Heritage designated Nærøyfjord, and transfer to Stalheim for one night at the historic Stalheim Hotel. In Oslo, enjoy a city tour with visits to Vigeland Sculpture Park and the Opera House.

Take a morning tour of Sweden’s gregarious second city. Compact and eminently walkable, the city is known for its Amsterdam-style canals, leafy boulevards and welcoming atmosphere. This afternoon, drive through the scenic Swedish countryside, passing remarkable glacial formations along Lake Lygnern. Continue south to the peninsula, where Tjolöholm Castle sits. Stroll through the castle and gardens. This evening, join your fellow travelers for the Captain’s Welcome Reception and Dinner.

Copenhagen, Denmark
On a tour of the world-class capital of Denmark, drive to the site of the old fish market, Gammel Strand, to embark on a sightseeing cruise through the canals and the port of Copenhagen. Pass major buildings such as Christiansborg Palace, the Naval Church and the Old Stock Exchange before entering the harbor where you will see the ancient Battery Sixtus and the fortress, Three Crowns. Spend time at leisure exploring Copenhagen this afternoon.

Gdansk, Poland
Option 1: Gdansk Old Town Walking Tour – Transfer to the Green Gate where the Old Town tour begins. See Gdansk port, the Motlawa river and the characteristic Gdansk Crane. Walk along the Long Wharf, Long Market, and see Neptune’s Fountain, Artus Court and St. Mary’s Church. Free time to explore the Old Town shops and cafes following the tour.
Option 2: Solidarity Tour – Visit the site where Solidarity, the 1st independent trade union in the Soviet Bloc, was formed. See the Monument to the Fallen Shipyard Workers pf 1970 & Tour the European Solidarity Centre.

Klaipeda, Lithuania
Klaipeda is a port city with a strong seafaring identity. The old town features German-style, 18th-century wood-framed buildings, winding cobblestone lanes and red-brick warehouses. Unusual statues are a delight to discover throughout the town. Today, choose your included excursion: visit nearby Palanga with its Amber Museum, or venture to the UNESCO-listed Curonian Spit.

Riga, Latvia
Begin the day with a tour of the city, including the UNESCO‑inscribed Historic Centre of Riga. Then in a Jewish heritage exploration, learn of the moving Jewish history of Riga, long a multicultural melting pot. Visit the former sites of the Great Choral Synagogue and Old Jewish Cemetery; important memorials; and the New Ghetto Museum.

Spend the full day at sea taking in the scenery, enjoying onboard lectures and mingling with fellow passengers. Enjoy three delicious meals and the many luxurious amenities on board.

Helsinki, Finland
Helsinki, the capital of Finland, is also known as “Daughter of the Baltic Sea.” Take a panoramic motorcoach tour including the city’s highlights. Pass by the colorful Market Square in the South Harbour and stop to see the modernist Sibelius Monument, an artistic homage to Finland’s most famous composer. Visit the subterranean Temppeliaukio Church (if no church services are in progress) called the “Rock Church,” as it was impressively hewn into solid natural bedrock. This afternoon, choose your excursion: visit the charming village of Porvoo, or indulge in a quintessential restorative Finnish sauna ritual.

Tallinn, Estonia
Tallinn’s UNESCO World Heritage-designated Historic Centre (Old Town) has remained virtually unchanged for 600 years. Tour around the ancient city walls, then begin a walking tour of Toompea, the hill on which Tallinn is centered. See the landmark 19th-century Russian Orthodox Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, and Toompea Castle. Continue your walking tour down narrow streets and steep stairs to the Lower Town. Visit the medieval Tallinn Town Hall, the seat of Estonia’s Parliament, and the only surviving Gothic hall in Europe. Admire the intricately painted main chamber and the guest book signed by Mikhail Gorbachev and the Dalai Lama. Say farewell at the Captain’s Reception and Dinner this evening.
